I was born in London, England and from an early age I was exposed to art in England and all over Europe. At the age of 14 I was privileged to exhibit my work at the galleries near Buckingham Palace. I was thrilled to see
the exhibition, along with my work, travel throughout Europe in 1972.
At the age of 18 I began my study of Graphic Design at Saint Martin's School of Art where I graduated with honors. Upon graduation I formed D & H Advertising and went on to work with Saatchi and Saatchi as Art Director. At Saatchi and Saatchi I was responsible for major accounts including British Airways, Toshiba, Garuda Airlines, Riva Boats, and Gucci.
My years of travel over the world have enhanced my understanding of art and painting, as has my continued study with great artists and teachers such as Quang Ho, Ron Hicks, Daniel Keys and Nancy Guzick. I have learned from the masters, in particular, the impressionists. The love of artists like Sargent, Monet, Sorolla and Zorn is apparent in my paintings.
My approach to painting is in essential is "en plein air", using the sketches I make from life outdoors as inspiration back in the studio. I am most passionate about painting from the model trying to capture the mood of the moment.
